Research and Development
Smartcom Software are very much a knowledge driven company, and these skills are used to good effect in a number of research and development projects, where we contribute our knowledge as part of a consortium. The projects may be supported by funding from organisations such as the European Space Agency, Galileo and SEEDA.

A research project building on the MIDAS project to develop a comprehensive e-navigation tool for the leisure marine sector - CADRE - Collision Avoidance Dynamic Routing Engine
A project applying our technology developed for weather routing in the marine sector to dynamic routing of cars on roads, together with real time road speed modelling
- MIDAS - Marine Information and Data Access Service
A 'one-stop shop' for weather forecasts and current weather reports, accessable through the PC based SmartMet software, a mobile phone, or a web browser. Data is also available to other companies for integrating into their own products and services. MIDAS is now operated as a joint venture between Smartcom Software and ComSine.
